Dropbox has been my preferred cloud-based storage system for quite some time. Whether it’s sharing files with other devices or sending large files, it makes the task very easy. Better still, it has been designed to work on any platform like iOS and macOS Sierra.
Just a couple of days back, I found Dropbox missing from Favorites in Finder. It took me some time to bring it back in the sidebar under Favorites. The prime reason why I like to keep Dropbox in Favorites is to be able to access it a bit easily. Here is how you can quickly add this cloud-based app to Favorites in Finder on your Mac.
How to Add Dropbox to Favorites in Finder Sidebar on your Mac
Step #1. First off, open Finder on your Mac.
Instead, it will delete the files and sync folder from your Dropbox account and stop all syncing in the future. You can open your Dropbox folder and you can see syncing between your Mac Desktop/Documents and Dropbox Folder. Now you can access your Mac Desktop files from any other system if you set up the same Dropbox account on other machines. Store all your work—like traditional files, cloud content, Dropbox Paper, and web shortcuts—right on your desktop. Easily find what you need using features like Starred files and folders, intelligently‐suggested folders, and image search. From the Menu bar, open the Go dropdown menu and select Applications. Once you are in the Applications folder, find Dropbox and right-click on it. Then click on Move to Trash. If you get a pop-up saying that Dropbox can’t be moved because it is open, click on the Dropbox icon in the top menu toolbar. This will open the Dropbox widget. Click the Dropbox icon in your Mac’s menu bar located at the top of your screen. In the window that pops up, find your account icon located in the far top right and click the down arrow next to it.

Step #2. Next, you need to click on the drive, in this case, Macintosh HD.
Step #3. Now, you have to click on Users.

Step #4. Click on your Username.
Step #5. Finally, you need to locate the Dropbox folder and drag it to the sidebar under Favorites.
That’s it!
If you wish to remove DropBox from finder sidebar, right click on DropBox and click on “Remove from Sidebar.”
